René Marleau Official of the Year Award

Who is eligible to receive this award

Any SSC official who has demonstrated meaningful, long term involvement with a club, region, branch, or the national association. Eligibility is also based on the following:

  • Every volunteer who does an outstanding job of officiating at speed skating meets
  • Officials' Development Committee members are excluded from nomination

Who can nominate candidates for this award

Each branch of SSC is entitled to submit one (1) name annually for selection for the René Marleau Official of the Year. The achievements and qualifications of each nominee for as many speed skating meets as possible should be listed on the nomination forms provided by SSC.

How is the winner of this award chosen

The Officials’ Development Committee will decide the winner of the award.

When is the award presented

The award will be presented at the Awards Banquet at the SSC Annual General Meeting.
