The Competition and Events System Review Team releases a series of guiding principles for competition and events in Canada
The Long term Participant and Athlete Development Implementation Working Group requested that the Competition and Events System Review Team reviews the current system of speed skating competitions and events in Canada. Its task is to provide recommendations as to how this system can be enhanced to better support the long term development of all participants consistent with Speed Skating Canada’s Long Term Participant and Athlete Development Model (LTP/AD). Speed Skating Canada launches Competition and Event System Review
Over the past decade, Canadian speed skaters have been some of the most dominant athletes in the world. As this generation of athletes is actively preparing for the 2010 Olympics in Vancouver, Speed Skating Canada is taking steps to ensure that the next generation will continue to dominate internationally in line with its stated 2020 vision.
