Jordan Belchos

BIOGRAPHY

A successful inline skater, Jordan Belchos started speed skating at the age of 16 after being recruited through a crossover sport camp run by Own the Podium. After a little over a year later, he was selected to represent Canada at the World Junior Championships and has been a member of the national team ever since.

Belchos represented Canada at PyeongChang 2018, where he finished fifth in the 10,000m and seventh in the 5000m. He has earned four career World Championship medals, including two silver and one bronze as a member of the Team Pursuit, along with silver in the Mass Start in 2020. Belchos enjoyed a breakout season in 2019-2020, winning three World Cup medals, which included gold in the Mass Start, the first individual distance medal of his career.

Belchos also represented Canada in inline speed skating at the 2015 Pan American Games in Toronto, earning bronze in the 10,000m points race to claim the country’s first ever Pan Am Games medal in roller sports. He also competed at the World Inline Championships in 2004 and 2005.

He resides in Calgary with girlfriend and fellow national team skater Valérie Maltais.
