AASSA Looking for a Director of Speed Skating

Alberta Amateur Speed Skating Association seeks a Director of Speed Skating to lead Alberta Speed Skating in the integration and application of the Speed Skating Canada LTPAD (Long Term Participant and Athlete Development) Model. The Director of Speed Skating will work at a Provincial level to bring every Alberta speed skater to his or her high performance potential.

The Director of Speed Skating will do this by supporting and guiding local speed skating coaches throughout Alberta in developing and delivering a province-wide high performance program of athlete development, coaching development, and by providing support and technical assistance for existing and new speed skating clubs.

The successful candidate will have a proven coaching history with a high performance background and a solid understanding of SSC’s LTPAD Model and its application to all aspects of the sport. He or she will have sound organizational and interpersonal skills.

Most importantly, the successful candidate will have a track record of leadership in sport, and sport ethics and values.

This is a full-time equivalent position based in Calgary, Alberta. Some travel in Alberta and, on occasion, elsewhere in Canada or the United States is required.

Compensation is commensurate with abilities and experience.
