Asini Wijesooriya & Camille Frechette Announced as National Finalists in Third Annual Intact Speed Skating Challenge

With the introduction of this year's theme - "Who Inspires You to Go Beyond" - skaters from coast to coast are announcing their coaches, family members and even some of Canada's national team are their sources of inspiration.

After thousands of votes, two heartfelt, touching and inspirational video stories remain in the country-wide search to find Canada’s best speed skating story.

Western Canada will be represented by Asini Wijesooriya from the Iqaluit Speed Skating Club.

We’ve seen this young girl play a supporting role in videos past, but now, she’s telling her own story in “Pushing Me to the Limit.” And she doesn’t have to look further than her home to find the inspiration to Go Beyond.

Eastern Canada will be represented by Camille Frechette of the Région Lanaudière Speed Skating Club.

Amidst a snowy day in Quebec, Camille Frechette recalls her start in the sport of speed skating and shares how meeting her hero, a member of Canada’s National Team, became “La Fabuleuse Inspiration.”

So who will be crowned Canada’s best speed skating story? Canada will decide.

Votes from previous rounds will not be carried over, so get online today and vote for your favorite video story at www.IntactSpeedSkatingChallenge.com.

The final round of voting ends Friday March 19, 2010 at 12 AM Midnight MST.

The winner will be crowned on March 21, 2010 at the Intact Video Awards Party during the season’s final weekend of competition at the Intact Finale at the Olympic Oval in Calgary.
