Congratulations to Susan Auch, new member of the COC Hall of Fame

Speed Skating Canada wishes to congratulate Susan Auch for her induction, last night, into the Canadian Olympic Committee Hall of Fame. Auch's speed skating career has been memorable through the 80's, 90's and until 2002. Her first Olympic experience was on home turf, in 1988, where she won a bronze medal with the women's short track relay. Since the sport was a demonstration sport that year, the medal can't be called an official Olympic medal, but Auch will always cherish it nonetheless. She then made the switch to long track and went on to compete in four more Olympic Winter Games, winning a pair of silver medals in the 500m, first in 1994 in Lillehammer and then in Nagano (1998). Following her career in speed skating, Susan Auch remained very involved with Speed Skating Canada and is currently sitting on the Board of Directors. Congratulations Susan for all your accomplishments!
