Fall World Cup Team Trials for Long Track

At the Olympic Oval, Calgary

Calgary, October 16, 2013. — Speed Skating Canada will host the Fall World Cup team trials this week at the Calgary’s Olympic Oval. The competition runs Thursday, Oct. 17 to Sunday, Oct. 20. The event is a selection competition for Canada’s fall World Cup roster. Women’s distances are 500, 1,000, 1,500, 3,000 and 5,000 metres. The men will race 500, 1,000, 1,500, 5,000 and 10,000 metre distances. The World Cup schedule starts with races in Calgary Nov. 8-10.

TRIAL SCHEDULE:

Thursday, Oct. 17

10 a.m. — Ladies 3,000

10:55 a.m. — Men 5,000

1:20 p.m. — Ladies 500 #1, Men 500 #1

3 p.m. — Ladies 500 #2, Men 500 #2

Friday, Oct. 18

2:40 p.m. — Ladies 1,000, Men 1,000

Saturday, Oct. 19

2:30 p.m. — Ladies 1,500

3:20 p.m. — Men 1,500

Sunday, Oct. 20

1:50 p.m. — Ladies 5,000

2:45 p.m. — Men 10,000
