Morrison leads Canadian team into Inzell World Cup March 7-9

Double medallist from the Sochi Winter Olympics Denny Morrison will lead the Canadian contingent at an ISU Essent World Cup long track speed skating competition in Inzell, Germany from March 7-9.

Morrison won a silver medal in the 1000m and bronze in the 1500m in Russia in February.  The Fort St. John, B.C., skater will compete in the 1000m on March 8 and the 1500m on March 9.

Also competing for Speed Skating Canada are Ivanie Blondin of Ottawa, Kaylin Irvine of Calgary, Jamie Gregg of Edmonton, Gilmore Junio of Calgary and William Dutton of Humboldt, Sask. All athletes competing in Inzell were on the Canadian Olympic team in Sochi.

Also, eight young Canadian athletes will be in Bjugn, Norway the same three days for the world junior championships. 

Representing Canada are Ben Donnelly of Oshawa, Ont., Geanne Blais-Dufour of Quebec, Daniel Dubreuil and Alexandre Dery, both of Levis, Que., Jordan Henkelman of Calgary, Noemie Fiset of Quebec., Juliette Wheler of Saskatoon and Isabelle Weidemann of Ottawa.
