NEWS: Day 2 at the Canada Cup #1 at Quebec City’s Gaétan-Boucher Oval

QUEBEC CITY – The second day of competition at the Canada Cup #1, long track, took place today at the Gaétan-Boucher Oval in Quebec City. The women took part in the 1,000-metre and 3,000-metre races, and the men competed in the 1,500-metre and 5,000-metre distances.

The results from the second day of competition are as follows:

1,000 metres women: 1. Kali Christ (Sask.), 1:23.27; 2. Kirsty Lay (Alberta), 1:24.08; 3. Kaylin Irvine (Alberta), 1:24.29; 4. Jennessa Kemp (Alberta), 1:26.21; Brianne Tutt (Alberta), 1:26.28.
3,000 metres women: 1. Kirsty Lay (Alberta), 4:31.37; 2. Brianne Tutt (Alberta), 4:35.18; 3. Keara Maguire (B.C.), 4:36.32; 4. Kali Christ (Sask.), 4:36.78; 5. Lauren McGuire (Ontario), 4:43.27.
1,500 metres men: 1. Justin Warsylewicz (Sask.), 1:56.53; 2. Laurent Dubreuil (Que.), 1:57.16; 3. Mykola Makowsky (Sask.), 1:57.84; 4. Martin Corbett (Ontario), 1:58.38; Alec Janssens (B.C.), 1:58.69.

On Sunday, the women and men will compete in the second 500 metres and 1,000 metres. The women will also race in the 5,000 metres and the men 10,000 metres.
