Provincial Coaching Coordinator - Manitoba

The Manitoba Speed Skating Association requires a fulltime Provincial Coaching Coordinator who is responsible for the implementation and administration of the provincial program, regional training centre, and the technical development of club coaches.

General Responsibilities:

• Coach and manage the provincial program

• Assist in the development of the strategic direction of the Regional Training Centre

• Coach the regional training center members

• Instruct and ensure the technical development of all club coaches

• Seek out and identify athlete performance enhancement methods

• Attend competitions and training camps as required

• Responsible for planning and coordinating all training camps for both the provincial team, regional training centre members, and the general membership

• Develops and implement programs to be used by the club coaches

Qualifications:

• A minimum of 3-5 years of coaching experience within the sport of Speed Skating

• Level 3 coaching certification or willingness to attain this level as soon as possible

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Excellent leadership skills

• Ability to manage program activities and within prescribed budgets as directed by the MSSA Board of Directors

Term: The position is expected to be a 2 year commitment with a probationary period of three months.

The Provincial Coaching Coordinator will be accountable to the MSSA Board of Directors.

Salary will commensurate with the skills and qualifications of the successful applicant.
