Sad news

The Fort St James Falcons Speed Skating Club is very sad to announce the passing of Randy Sulyma. Randy leaves his wife, Sandra, and children Emily and Joel. Randy has been involved with speed skating for approximately 10 years since he started coaching his son, Joel, as a cradle. Since then, he has become an integral part of the club as head coach, mentor, and director where his enthusiasm and determination sped the club forward.

Randy’s involvement in sports as an athlete and volunteer was not limited to speed skating. He was an active member of the community soccer club, minor hockey and the local bike club. His passing will be felt greatly in his town of Fort St. James, the neighbouring communities of Vanderhoof (Nechako Lakes Speed Skating Club), Prince George Blizzards Speed Skating Club and BCSSA. SSC wishes to extend their deepest sympathies to the family and friends of Randy.
