Scott Stefani joins SSC as long track program coordinator

CALGARY – Speed Skating Canada is pleased to announce the appointment of Scott Stefani as long track program coordinator, based out of the Olympic Oval offices in Calgary.

The Vancouver-native has an extensive background in sports administration work and studies.

Scott received his Bachelors of Arts degree, with a communication major and a minor in educational psychology, at Simon Fraser University. He then travelled to Lausanne, Switzerland, to complete the master in sports administration and technology program at the International Academy of Sport Science and Technology.

Scott comes to SSC directly from the Rick Hansen Foundation, and earlier the B.C. Children’s Hospital Foundation. Previous work experiences has seen Scott apply his sports administration skills with the host committee, VANOC, for the 2010 Winter Olympics, Field Hockey B.C., the B.C. Wheelchair Basketball Society, Football B.C. and the Canadian Football League’s B.C. Lions.

Scott also gained valuable sports industry experience in media and client relations with the International Management Group (IMG) offices in Vancouver.

He has already relocated from Vancouver to Calgary and officially started on Monday, Dec. 5.
