Speed Skating Canada hires new Sport Development Coordinator

Speed Skating Canada (SSC) would like to announce the appointment of Ms. Hannah Juneau to the position of Sport Development Coordinator.

Ms. Juneau comes to SSC from the Canadian Sport Centre in Calgary where she obtained experience and understanding of the Canadian sport system. As a member of the Canadian Sport Centre in Calgary, her responsibilities included liaising with athletes, coaches and key volunteers within the Canadian sport system. She was also involved in compiling an athlete database, as well as developing various resource and display materials for the center.

A Kinesiology graduate from the University of Calgary, she is familiar with the sport of speed skating having worked as a volunteer at numerous competitions with the Olympic Oval Organizing Committee for the past four years. She attended the 2002 Olympic Academy of Canada and is currently co-chair of the Alberta Youth Olympic Symposium. The Symposium provides high school students with an opportunity to learn more about the Olympic ideals, sportsmanship and fair-play.
