Speed Skating Canada Launches its Inukshuk Initiatives Website

Inukshuks are the guiding beacons in the land of ice and snow used by the Inuit, Inupiat, Kalaallit, Yupik, and other peoples of the Arctic. Speed Skating Canada (SSC) has adopted the Inukshuk as its symbol to lead its teams to success on the Short Track ice of the Pacific Coliseum in Vancouver and the Long Track ice of the Richmond Speed Skating Oval.

Today, Speed Skating Canada launches a new website to promote its Inukshuk Initiatives planned for the 2009-2010 season. http://inukshuk.speedskating.ca This website will serve as a central point to receive information about special activities and programs planned for the 2009-2010 season as well as an educational site about the sport of speed skating.

This site will be updated regularly as initiatives are launched and activities are planned.

Most importantly, this website will be the location where family and friends of Speed Skating Canada National Team Athletes and Support Staff will be able to register for specific programs and learn about services being offered by Speed Skating Canada.

For more information about the Inukshuk Initiatives and the Family and Friends program consult the website or email Speed Skating Canada at familyandfriends@speedskating.ca
