Speed Skating Canada unveils its final roster for the ISU World Cup Long Track Speed Skating in Germany

Speed Skating Canada announced today its final line-up, including events for each Canadian skater, for the third ISU World Cup Long Track Speed Skating of the 2015-2016 season to be held December 4-6 in Inzell, Germany.

Team Canada will look to pursue its quest for medals as 14 medals have been won so far by the Canadian skaters in two World Cups, seven at each of the first two events of the 2015-2016 season. This number is only one less than the 15 won last season overall, over seven World Cups.

Among the 19 athletes, William Dutton from Humboldt, SK, will aim to pursue his streak as he won four medals in four 500m events so far this season.

Following his gold medal with a new World Record in the 10,000m at the World Cup #2 in Salt Lake City, Ted-Jan Bloemen of Calgary will now look to win a third individual medal in three World Cups this season, this time in the 5000m. At the first World Cup of the season in Calgary, Bloemen won a bronze medal in this event.

Ivanie Blondin from Ottawa will also be looking to add a third medal in three World Cups this season in the mass start event following her silver and bronze medals in the first two World Cups of the season.

Laurent Dubreuil from Lévis, QC, will aim to pursue where he left in Salt Lake City as he won his first World Cup medal of the season at the second 500m event of the weekend.

The Canadian skaters, including eight women and eleven men, will take part in the 500m, 1000m, 1500m, women’s 3000m, men’s 5000m, mass start and team pursuit events in Inzell.
