Speed Skating Canada Welcomes New Sport Program Assistant

Speed Skating Canada (SSC) is happy to announce that Yanna Moncion was hired to fill the position of Sport Program Assistant.

Prior to being hired by SSC, Yanna was the Sales and Marketing Manager at Camp Fortune and the Fortune Aerial Experience in Chelsea, QC. Yanna was also volunteering as the Assistant Race Organizer in the creation and delivery of a cross-country mountain bike race series at Camp Fortune.

“We are happy to welcome Yanna to our team,” said Jean R. Dupré, Director General, Speed Skating Canada. “She is definitely a great addition to our sport department, where she will assist us in offering an even better service to both our high performance and our development programs.”

Yanna’s main responsibilities with SSC include providing assistance to all Sport Development Committees, linking with coaches and officials, co-ordinating the distribution of bid and hosting materials, keeping SSC records up to date and overseeing the production of all Sport Department program materials.

An Honors Kinesiology graduate from the University of Western Ontario as well as a graduate from the Sport Business Management Certificate Program at Algonquin College in Ottawa, Yanna is knowledgeable of the Canadian amateur sport system and is looking forward to working with SSC in the lead up to the 2010 Vancouver Olympic Games.
