Frequently Asked Questions

Why have the parameters of the Podium Tracker Program changed?
The foundation of the Program remains the same; Intact Insurance will award $1,000 every time a member of the National Speed Skating Team wins an individual medal during the 2016-17 World Cup or World Championship. These dollars will be pooled into the overall Podium Tracker grant budget and the total budget will be determined at the end of the 2016-17 season, based on results. Clubs are required to submit their application in order to be eligible for these funds. Click the following link to complete your application by visiting the Speed Skating Canada website here. 

Who is eligible?
All Clubs in Canada are eligible. Your Club must be in good standing and not have any outstanding payments due to Speed Skating Canada in order for your application to be reviewed.

What is the total amount of grant dollars being awarded?
The total Podium Tracker grant budget will be based on the results of the National Team in 2016-17.

What are the key timelines?
Launch date: January 10, 2017
Application due date: March 31, 2017
Announcement of Grant Recipients: early spring, 2017
