Structure

Speed Skating Canada is an amateur association that is a member of the International Skating Union. The Board of Directors is comprised of a President (elected every two years), a Treasurer (elected every year), two Directors at Large (elected every two years), three Directors at Large (elected every year), and one Athletes Representative.

The SSC is divided into thirteen branches, each equivalent to provincial boundaries. Each branch elects its own executives and delegates to SSC's Annual General Meeting.

The SSC has a Central Office in Ottawa run by full-time staff of 9 lead by the Director General. The Association also has National Coaches located at the Calgary Olympic Oval, the Gaétan-Boucher Oval in Sainte-Foy and the Maurice-Richard Arena in Montréal.
