About the World Long Track Sprint Championships
The world sprint championships are a competition held annually to determine the best overall sprint speed skater of the world. The world sprint championships are held over two days, where skaters race the 500 metres and 1,000 metres events each day.
The champion is determined by the lowest total cumulative samalog points based upon racing times over the four distances.
