The All Round Long and All Round Short events kicked-off today at the 15th annual Can Am long track speed skating competition. This event has grown into an exciting four-day international competition with over 200 athletes taking over the Olympic Oval. The 3000m event was thrilling as National Development team member Justin Warsylewicz skated a Canadian Junior Record. His time of 3:47.05 eclipsed the previous record by over 5 seconds. In addition, National Teammates Arne Dankers and Kerry Simpson performed well, both capturing firsts in the 3000m.

In the women’s All Round Short 1500m races, Simpson was first with a time of 1:58.90 and National Development Team member Chelsey Parker was second with a time of 2:02.66.
