Job Posting: Director, High Performance (Long Track)

Speed Skating Canada (SSC), the national governing body for the sport of speed skating in Canada, is looking for an inspired individual with a proven record of building world leading programs for the position of Director, High Performance - Long Track.

Reporting to the Chief Sport Officer (CSO), the Director, High Performance – Long Track (HPD) is the lead Speed Skating Canada (SSC) staff person responsible for the development, implementation and ongoing leadership of a world class Long Track national team program. The HPD will lead a highly motivated team focused on developing high performance athletes using a holistic approach to achieve sustained podium performances at World Championship and Olympic Games.

With oversight from the CSO, the HPD works closely with the Technical Coaching Advisor and the Integrated Support Team (IST) lead as part of the Long Track management team. The HPD is the lead person with oversight in the day to day operations with the Long Track high performance program. This individual oversees the implementation of the strategic direction of the high performance program, is responsible for building a world leading team approach within professional staff and national team athletes toward podium performances, and will hold responsibility of the monthly and annual planning and management of the national teams.
