HEERENVEEN, Netherlands – Canada’s long track speed skating team travelled from Calgary last week to Heerenveen, Netherlands, to take part in the first Essent ISU World Cup of the season from Friday, Nov. 16 to Sunday, Nov. 18. See the table below for the athletes and their specific distances.

The first World Cup will feature the men's and women's 500 metres, 1,000 metres, 1,500 metres and mass start, and the women’s 3,000 metres and men’s 5,000 metres.

Schedule (Netherlands is six hours ahead of Ottawa, ET)

Friday, Nov. 16
12.15 p.m. (6:15 a.m. ET): Division B: Women 500m and 3000m; Men 5000m
4 p.m. (10 a.m. ET): Division A: Women 3000m and 1st 500m; Men 5000m
Saturday, Nov. 17
10:15 a.m. (4:15 a.m. ET): Division B: Women 2nd 500m and 1500m; Men 1st 500m and 1000m
2 p.m. (8 a.m. ET): Division A: Women 2nd 500m, 1500m and mass start (Division A and B); Men 1st 500m, 1000m and team pursuit
Sunday, Nov. 18
11 a.m. (5 a.m. ET): Division B: Women 1000m; Men 2nd 500m and 1500m
2 p.m. (8 a.m. ET): Division A: Women 1000m and team pursuit; Men 2nd 500m, 1500m, and mass start (Division A and B)
