Each year, thousands of our coaches selflessly give of themselves to continually improve their team, our sport and their community, and Campbell’s Chunky and CAC want to recognize that effort. The winner will receive the Chunky MVC Tribute Day to be featured on TSN, among other prizes.

Gold and Bronze in the 1500m at the World Cup in Heerenveen

Once again, Canada’s long track team had great success today, thanks to Kristina Groves (Ottawa, ON) and Christine Nesbitt (London, ON). Just when all bets were off, Groves skated with determination and managed to take away the victory with a lead of 0.69 seconds on German speed-skater Daniela Anschütz Thoms who was holding first position up until then.

Canada’s Best Speed Skating Story Keeps Getting Better: Lloydminster Border Blades put ING’s $5,000 Club Donation into New Speed Skating Facility Enhancements

Eight months after Alastair Starke’s “Durness Oval Story” was crowned ’s Best Speed Skating Story, his home club, the Lloydminster Border Blades, have done wonders with the $5,000 donation from ING.

Taking a page from the movie Field of Dreams, 17-year-old Alastair Starke of Lloydminster, Alberta told the story of an oval he created on a frozen slough behind his family's farm to prepare for the Alberta Winter Games.

But he won’t have to train on a frozen slough this season.
